Fundamentals

The Basics of Landscapefor Foundation: a collection of articles illustrating the essential principles and documents underpinning our mission.

The sense of landscape

Statuto

The 2000 framework for a new consideration of the role of landscape in everyone’s habitual behaviour and land-use practices. A reflection on the capacity of landscape to respond to the demand for identity, exploration and the sacred in personal and collective psychology.

The 2012 manifesto

Caspar Friedrich, Sera sul mare, 1820

The promise of action that accompanied the Landscapefor Association’s first years of activity. In order to increase ‘the pleasure of living’ we consider ‘landscape not as an end but as an operational tool’ and ‘we want to show that landscape is useful’… A practically inexhaustible and increasingly important perspective of action as time goes by.

The useful landscape

Caspar Friedrich, veliero, 1820

Keynote speech at the 2013 conference: an interpretation of the sociological and psychological tensions of our time that could benefit from an active consideration of our relationship with the landscape, committing ourselves to value it as we normally do the house we inhabit.

AtlasFor: The project

Caspar Friedrich, scogliere di Rugen, 1819

A major Atlasfor project in 2016: to present territorial aspects of cultural interest or to illustrate the historical and artistic environmental heritage to be maintained and enhanced, or to showcase local ‘active landscape’ initiatives, with the productions, services and performances that complement and make the cultural heritage comprehensible.
