Illustration of the ‘Atlas For Visit Acquese’ project on the occasion of the presentation of ‘Le Terre della Via Francigena’ (The Lands of the Via Francigena), aimed at enhancing the local routes and attractions of the area by using the fame of the Via Francigena.

The event saw the participation of numerous authorities and the presence of the Mayor of Acqui Terme and the heads of the Associazione Europea Vie Francigene.

During the meeting, Paolo Castelnovi presented the Atlasfor atlas and illustrated the strategy for coordination at local level and the criteria underlying the identification of routes capable of enhancing the territories and the natural and historical heritage.

The project – which benefited from the operational contribution of the Municipality of Acqui and the support of the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation – was operationally implemented in 2020 and (given the Covid-19 pandemic) concluded in the following year. Two archives were produced, one for the city and the other for the Apennine area, registering around 90 points of interest.

‘Atlas For Visit Acquese’ allowed LandscapeFor to express one of its main missions, that of communicating less explored suburban territories, but rich in cultural, tourist and landscape heritage.
